On the left hand side are tabs for all of the search buttons (Websites). We’ll get into this side in more detail later. |
| Location – In this tab you will enter as much or as little information as you would like about where you live or work. This information is used for mapping to addresses (i.e. when you search for Bank Locations or Retail Stores). It is also used with the careers button to set a default location and radius to search for job opportunities. | |||||
![]() |
| Language – This tab is used to set-up what you want as your default language and if you want it to automatically translate websites into a different language. The default is to translate from “Auto” (i.e. the language the website is defaulted in) to “English”. You can select from over 25 different languages to translate from / to. | |||||
![]() |
| Messages– This is how WooSnap “talks to you” it is like getting emails without clogging up your inbox. You tell WooSnap what messages you would like to receive from it and can change your mind at any time. You also tell WooSnap how often you want it to go out and check for new messages, from once an hour to once every 48 hours. | |||||
![]() |
And that’s it, we try to make WooSnap very easy to set-up and manage. |
| 2.How do I manage the websites? I don’t really want that many in my list. | Back to Index | ||||
Like everything else in WooSnap the great thing is you customize it to suit your needs. Some people are content to just use the defaults we set-up but others want to get in there and play around and change things up. They want it their way not ours and you know what, we are very happy with that. Again click on the Options button and look to the left. You’ll see 11 tabs that correspond with the buttons on the toolbar. Each of these tabs contains a default list of websites (these are the ones we preload for the users) on the left and a list of available sites on the right (these are websites already in our database that you can choose from). You can also add websites that we don’t have to the lists and if you shoot us a message we’ll add it to our database and make it available for all WooSnappers. |
![]() |
| To add available WooSnap sites click on a site name (or click on the + sign next to a folder to open it and then select a website name) then click on the Add a Site button | ![]() |
| It will automatically show up on the left hand side now. You can also double click on a website name to view the site before adding it to the category (or double click on a folder to view all of the sites within that folder), kind of like a “try before you buy” deal. | |||||
| Did you go website adding crazy and now you have way more than you need? Not a problem, you can quickly and easily move them out by selecting the website name (or folder name) and click on the Delete a Site button | ![]() |
| Do you have a favorite website that we don’t list? Click on the tab you want the site listed under (i.e. mapping, shopping, sports, etc), click on the Add User Sites button | ![]() |
and a box will pop up and you will give the site a name and type in the web address. You can also add sites from your IE Favorites into the different tabs for better organization and faster searching. |
| 3.What are messages? How do they work? What if I don’t want them? | Back to Index | ||||
Messages are sent by the WooSnap team to users who have opted into receiving them. By default you are opted-in to receiving them. WooSnap will send you messages letting you know if there are new Woopons (our cute name for Coupons) available, information regarding WooSnap, and any new holiday/special event website we have updated. |
| The messages work by WooSnap sending information to your toolbar, you’ll never get an email from us (unless you have contacted us first) in your inbox. When you have new messages the messages button | ![]() |
will flash at you indicating a new message(s). If you double-click on the button a window will open, your unread messages will be bolded with a yellow envelope and your read messages will be un-bolded with a gray envelope. You can choose to open all of the messages by clicking on “Open All” or you can open select messages by double clicking on them in the box. Certain messages you can’t opt out of, those are messages that concern the WooSnap toolbar/software. We want to make sure we keep our users informed of any known problems/fixes. And of course you’ll find this wonderful user manual in there as wel |
| 4.What are the various button/icons for? What do they do? | |||||
WooSnap has 11 different buttons/icons you can use in the software; they are used for running your searches in specific categories. This keeps you, the user, from having to weed through tons of websites that aren’t relevant to what you were searching for. They are as follows: |
| General– This is where you will find what else but General websites such as Google, Yahoo, Ask, and Cuil along with Reference websites such as Dictionary.com, About and Wikipedia | ![]() |
| Map– This one includes Google Maps and Accuweather as its default but add your favorite mapping website in here like Google Earth, MapQuest, Maps.com or Live Search Maps | ![]() |
Favorites – This one actually goes out to your default browser and pulls in your favorites from there so everything website you had saved as a favorite in your old browser is now in your WooSnap toolbar waiting for you to go search in it. And don’t worry if you add a favorite in that “other” browser and forget to add it in WooSnap, we’re smart enough to go check your favorites in those other guys and see what’s new. |
![]() |
| News – This one kind of speaks for itself, it comes preloaded with news sites, financial sites and newspaper sites from around the world so you can keep up with the latest news. Or if someone tells you about something they heard on the news or an article they read you can enter the info in the search bar and click on the news button and find it. Feel free to add to add your favorite sites into it as well. | ![]() |
| Shopping – This is the place to find everything you are looking for on the web to purchase. It comes preloaded with websites that are broken down into categories just like a mall directory. Type in what you are looking for and then click on the shopping button to search on-line stores for the nest deals out there. And as a bonus, if you checked Display site specific Woopons in the options we will give you coupons and deals for the stores you are shopping in when they are available) | ![]() |
| Sports – If you are a sports fanatic then this button is for you. It comes pre-loaded with several sports sites and of course you can always add your favorites as well. Never miss a story or headline on your favorite team, player or sport again. | ![]() |
| Entertainment – Looking for the hottest concert or theater tickets? Are you social networking junkie? Do you love to stream music or videos? Then this is the button for you. Search for movie, concert and theater tickets. Go out to your favorite social networking site (don’t forget to become a fan of WooSnap! on Facebook) and hit your favorite place to purchase and download MP3’s | ![]() |
| Travel– Who doesn’t need or deserve a vacation? Search for lowest airfare, hotels and car rentals or book them all together and save even more. This button comes pre-loaded with the biggest names in on-line travel sites and we’ve even thrown in a few of our favorites that we’ve found to have great deals. | ![]() |
Medical– Find out what is ailing you or your family when you click on the medical button. You can also order all those supplies you need to restock your medicine cabinet and first aid box. |
![]() |
| Careers– These days most people are looking for a new job or career. With the career button just enter your job title in the search box and click on the button and it will search several on-line job seeking websites. And if you filled in any part of your address and a radius in the options menu the searches will come back with job openings located within the search radius of the address you set-up. This saves you a few steps once you get to the sites of not having to weed out job openings in areas you aren’t interested in. | ![]() |
| Translate– This opens up Google Translate and you can then enter either text or a webpage that you would like to translate. | ![]() |
Add a Website – Did a friend just tell you about a really cool site that we don’t have in our system? Maybe you are a scout leader and your troop has their own website. You can add those sites with just the click of a button, literally, a box will pop up and you will give the site a name, type in the web address and then add it to whichever categories you want it to show up in. |

| 5.How does the WooSnap search work? | Back to Index | ||||
To perform a search using WooSnap enter in your search term in the search box, this can be as general or as specific as you want it to be. Obviously the more specific the search term the more specific information you will receive but don’t worry if you keep it general, you still won’t end up with tens of thousands of search results unlike other search engines. After entering your search term click on the category button you want to search in and then any specific site or folder you want to further search in. You can also search the entire category if you want and don’t worry if you have 70+ sites in the category WooSnap will open them all for you quickly and easily. |
![]() |
Now it is time for WooSnap to do its thing – If you clicked a specific site to search WooSnap launches its built-in browser and opens the website you selected with your search results showing. If you selected a folder to search in WooSnap it still opens its built-in browser but only initially opens the first website in the folder. On the left hand side of the browser window you will see a list of websites that were in the category you searched in (i.e. Shopping/Electronics). You can either click on each one individually OR you can click on the “Open All” box. All of the websites listed in the search will open in separate tabs, in a browser window to the right. |
![]() |
On the bottom you’ll notice some quick feeds that are provided to you by WooSnap. They include Twitter (so you can tweet directly from WooSnap), My Yahoo, iGoogle, Windows Live, News, Weather, Sports and Travel. Click on the name to see information in those categories. If you click on a link within these feeds it will open in a new WooSnap browser window. |
![]() |
Right-hand Side: There is a gray strip with black arrows to the right. If you click on it the search window box will “disappear”, not to worry your search hasn’t gone anywhere. Just click on the gray strip to the left of the browser window and your search box will come out of hiding. |

| 6.Why are there two (2) sets of tabs in my WooSnap browser? | Back to Index | ||||
There are two sets of tabs for a very good reason; we are all about making things easy for you. The top set of tabs shows any websites you have gone to by entering the website into the search box, any websites you ran a search on AND any searches you performed on a folder within a category. |
![]() |
The bottom set of tabs is the websites that were opened from the search window on the right after you performed a search on a folder. |

| 7.What are all these extra arrows and X’s used for? | Back to Index | ||||
You will notice in the WooSnap browser there are a lot of functions that are done by just the click of the mouse, as we’ve said before we are all about making your life easy, things are complicated enough without having an internet browser that make things cumbersome to find and search. You’ll notice when you first open WooSnap it launches in just search box mode |
![]() |
![]() |
Next you’ll notice that there is a gray strip with black arrows under the search box area |
![]() |
![]() |
On the top set of tabs you’ll see that there is a down arrow, if you click on this it will show you a list of all the tabs you have open on the top row |
![]() |
You can also resize the search window results box to see more or less of the website but still see your search results. Click and drag the bar to the left or right to resize the window |
